How to Be You

Image
My entire life I have always wanted to be different and never follow the crowd. This could be something as big as what college to go to, or something as little as style. Being yourself can be so scary, but it is worth it in the long run, since you will be so much happier with every single decision you make. Examples of how I may differ from the "in crowd", are what college I am going to, since it is an automotive school in a smaller town (I am not majoring in anything automotive), my style, which is a bit more preppy (turtlenecks, tailored pants, blazers, etc...), and even the sport I play, which is golf! These things are not exactly what everyone else does, but they are what makes me happy! It really is the simple things in life that can make your world a little more positive, so no more rambling and here are my tips for how to be you! These are not technically going to be things that are 100% different from everyone else, but they are what makes you, you! Figure out ...

Ideas for School Lunch

Image
Hi guys i'm back! Today's post is going to be about what to pack with you for school lunch.  I just started packing my lunch again after a few years and I am so glad I did! After lunch I feel a lot more energized and healthier than when I ate the school lunch. School lunch is typically gross and for my school it is super gross, so I wasn't eating anything, well not as much as I should be eating. I decided to start packing for another reason too. Every time I don't eat enough I get really dizzy and feel gross, I soon found out that this is called hypoglycemia. I'm not exactly sure if it is common or not, but it kind of helps knowing what was causing all this sickness. Before I ramble on like I normally do here are some main meal and snack ideas for school: Main Meals Peanut and Butter Honey Sandwich Pasta Salad Normal Salad Yogurt (Thanks to  diyintheforest.blogspot.com  ) You could also add something to the yogurt to give it a yummy twist, plus go check out ...

Friend Drama (Is there any other kind?)

Hi everyone ! It has seriously been forever since I last blogged and I am so sorry for that. I honestly have no excuse besides the fact I just never did.  Lots of things have happened and I have been dying to post something related to it! A couple of days ago my friend and I, well my friend decided she no longer wanted to be "friends" anymore, it has been going on for a while, but I think it finally ended. I want this post to be about what to do when you are going through a similar situation, so lets get into it: My number one thing that I would do is to talk to them, I know this seems very obvious, but seriously you need to. When you are talking to them or even texting them make sure to think about your words wisely! If the first option fails, DO NOT TALK ABOUT THEM. Okay I have been in so many situations where I would have fall outs with my friends and I would need to rant to someone and after I ranted to the person they would turn around and tell the exact person I was...

Social Media & How it Affects Me

Image
I remember in the sixth grade I made my first social media account and it was Instagram. My posts were so silly and weird haha.  Looking back at that time it was so much simpler because I didn't care what anyone thought of what I posted, but today I analyze every picture I take or every tweet I make, just so that nobody thinks its weird or awkward.  I wanted to write about this because, quite frankly social media has taken over our lives. I just hope if you read this that you may think about the affects it has on you.  I honestly think that we have social media to get attention and what we really drive for is for someone to comment on our selfie saying that "You look so cute, *Heart Eyes Emojii*, but when social media first came out it was a way to connect to each other and talk to people you wouldn't normally see everyday.  Here lately I have really been missing my childhood when I really didn't care how many likes I got on instagram.  We have let our likes def...

Reasons to Love Valentine's Day Even if You Are a Single Pringle

Image
I have a love-hate relationship with Valentine's Day , I remember being in 6th grade and I had one of those weird relationships that you get when you're at that age and I bought my boyfriend some candy and he bought me some as well, anyway I ended up eating his candy and mine ! He was making me angry and I thought well i'm just going to eat his candy because why not.  I ended up breaking up with him the next day, this is why i'm still single , haha just kidding.  This post is just a reminder that you don't need to be in a relationship with someone to enjoy this very loving holiday, so without further adiu here are my reasons to love Valentine's Day: All of the Candy ! There are so many delicious candies out there once Valentines Day comes around and most of them come in cute little heart boxes ! The Discount Candy the Day After ! After Valentine's Day most stores put all their special holiday candy on sale, which means loads of chocolate for a great p...

Things to Do When You Are Bored

My entire life I have said I was bored at least 10 billion times.  In all reality you should never be bored especially growing up in a world where you can access a lot of things you wouldn't have been able to, let's say 15 years ago.  When I was younger if I was bored I went outside and kicked a soccer ball or jumped on the trampoline, but in today's generation I don't know if anyone really does that anymore, which is kind of sad to me. So before I go on a rant, here are 10 things to do when you are bored: Go Outside , like go on a hike or even just sit outside and drink some coffee, you would be surprised how relaxing being outside is ! Reorganize Something , I don't know about you, but I love to reorganize things (but not clean!), whether it be your closet or even just your desk ! Create New Outfits , sit down in front of your closet and just start thinking about what you think will go together and you could even look for inspiration on Pinterest or Instagr...

Thrifting is the Bomb.Com

Image
When the New Year comes around most people want to clean out their closets and make room for new clothes, but don't want to have to empty your wallet in the process.  Most people today use Vinted , which is an app that lets you sell your clothes and I think is an amazing app, but I don't have time to take the pictures and post it, as well as wait for someone to buy my clothes.  The next best thing is to give away your clothes to a Second-Hand store, like Goodwill !  You're not only making room for new clothes, but also helping someone out.  This entire post is about thrifting and all the amazing things it brings !  THRIFTING & The Benefits: Thrifting is super cheap , depending on where you go, but it will almost definitely be cheaper than if you were to buy from the department store. If you end up not liking the clothing item, it won't cost you as much to get rid of, for example if you had a $100 Shirt vs a $3.00 Shirt ! You can find...

Things to Follow

Image
Since it's the start of a great year, I thought that it would be a good idea to have some things to follow by.  I am not the best person when it comes to sticking to a routine, but these are a couple ideas I want to see if I can stick with: Drink More Water Make Your Bed Every Morning Give Yourself at Least 30 Minutes Keep a Planner (Write down all your homework and it makes you feel less stressed ) Wake Up and Go to Sleep at the Same Time Every Day Do Something that You Love  Read More Clean Out Your Room Spend Less Time on Your Phone ( Mainly Social Media )  Keep Up with All of Your Homework Focus on Yourself , Instead of the People Around You Don't Be Afraid to Stand Up for Yourself  This is a very short and quick blog post, but I thought it would be something I wanted to share to you guys and maybe inspire you !  All of these simple ideas are really easy to do and if you forget don't give up and start as soon as you remember ! There is...

Confidence

Image
I think that confidence comes from trusting and believing in yourself.  These two things I lack in, a lot, but I'm working on it to a point where I can be in a situation and think that everything will turn out okay.  The place where people go wrong is that they think that confidence comes from being beautiful, but I honestly don't belive that at all, you could be wearing a gorgeous dress and have your makeup looking flawless, but you could feel like you don't belong or you shouldn't be wearing that type of outfit because you don't belive it or trust it.  This might not make sense to some, but for the few people out there it could change perspectives.  An example would be a professional athlete, they train for years for something and they know and trust themselves enough to say that they can win or they can do this, if they didn't think that they could do it or they thought that they weren't qualified enough, they would never be at the point they are at.  Thi...

My Top Ten Favorite Makeup Products of 2015

Since about a couple of years ago, I have really been interested by makeup and it's not really something that I need or is something that I feel I absolutely must have, but it is something that gives me that little extra confidence boost that I need throughout the day.  Ever since those couple of years I have found that there are certain products that I enjoy using more than others.  Most of these are Drugstore makeup brands, there might be one or two that are not.  Without further adieu these are my favorite make up products: (this is not sponsored in any way) Maybelline New York's Fit Me ! Foundation, Matte & Poreless in the shade 125 Nude Beige. (this product is by far my favorite and most used foundation that I have and used before, it goes on really smoothly and is easy to blend out.) Maybelline New York's Master Glaze by FaceStudio Blush Stick in the shade Pink Fever 20. (This is a fantastic blush and the pigment is very pretty, especially for the winter a...

7 Days of Christmas Countdown Craft

Image
Every year I feel as though Christmas comes faster and I always have so much I want to do before it arrives.  I decided that on this Friday the 18th I would make 7 note cards and put them in a mason jar and take one out every day until Christmas Day. On these note cards are Christmas themed things to do. So here are my 7 things to do before Christmas ( these are extremely basic, but I thought it would be fun to do) : Paint your nails C h r i s t m a s Colors Write a note to each family member why you are thankful for them Do holiday make-up for the day Dress in your best Christmas Sweater or outfit Watch a Christmas movie Do a Christmas Craft Bake a Christmas dessert This is a really quick and easy thing to do and you can use things from around your house to make it.  Another idea would be to make a 25 Day version starting December 1st.  You do not need to use a mason jar either, you could use an old shoe box and decorate it how you wish or even a b...

"Time Flies" 10 Tips to End Your Time Management Problems

Image
Time management is something that you learn from experience.  I'm still pretty young and haven't quite mastered the skill yet, actually I am procrastinating on some of my homework as I type this.  What I wanted to share with you today are some of my tips on staying on track and getting work done !  Being a teenager means a lot of stress and gaining new responsibilities, some people deal with this better than others. I am not the best person when it comes to being stressed, but I am able to somehow keep control on my responsibilities.  Now for the tips that this whole article is about ! (This is something that I do and it may not work for everyone, but I hope it helps a little !)   : PUT YOUR PHONE far away as possible, most of the time you only have one distraction, and that is your phone.  What I like to do is place my phone somewhere in my house or on the opposite side of my room while i'm doing my homework. Get yourself everything that you need to...

Girl Drama

Image
Let us all be completely honest, being a girl is rough and what is even more rough is holding your tongue and not lashing out on a whim.  This past week as been difficult to an extent, you've guessed it petty girl drama .   One of my best friends of four years decided to yell at me in front of everyone in the school hall, over a simple question to which I had no answer. It was a ridiculous question, "Where am I supposed to go for fourth period?" this seems like a pretty normal question, but not to her she acted as if her life depended on the question.  Since I do not have her class fourth I didn't know what she was even talking about.  I responded with " I don't know where you are supposed to go, since I do not have that class." what made it worse was she asked me not a second time, but ten more times.  Sorry for the rant, but getting to the point is that girls like to exaggerate things and create drama for the fun of it.   Here are some tips from my e...
